Ebony is our confident “herd leader” who isn’t shy about letting everyone know she’s in charge. She loves her meals right on time each morning and makes sure her caretakers don’t forget. Ebony is also a huge fan of water—whether it’s splashing in her kiddie pool, enjoying the sprinkler, or getting a cool spray from the hose, she’s always ready for playtime.
Her personality is equal parts friendly and sassy, earning her the nickname “Sassy Pants.” While she isn’t a rescue herself—Ebony and her buddy Trooper came from a loving farm—she now plays an important role at TNP by showing our rescued alpacas that life can be safe, fun, and full of joy again. If you have food in hand, Ebony will happily be your new best friend!
Age: 5 years
Trooper is full of energy and personality—always ready to kick up his heels and have a little fun. He adores food and will happily give you all his attention if you come bearing snacks. As the only male in the herd (currently), Trooper is gelded and learning to balance his playful dominance with respect for his female companions. He has grown up side-by-side with Ebony, and the two are inseparable best friends.
Like Ebony, Trooper isn’t a rescue himself, but he plays a vital role at TNP by helping the rescued alpacas feel safe and confident in their new home. He’s especially fond of water play, whether it’s splashing in the pool or running through the sprinkler with Ebony. Known for his big heart and eagerness to learn, Trooper is a gentle teacher for the rest of the herd. With food in your hand, you’ll find Trooper is quick to become your loyal friend!
The Baby of the Herd
Kristina is the youngest member of our alpaca family and the beloved daughter of Sky. Still learning about the world, she sometimes feels a bit unsure around people—much like her mom, who is working through anxiety from a difficult past. Kristina tends to follow her mother’s lead, but with patience, kindness, and the support of her herd, she’s beginning to build trust.
She loves to play alongside Trooper and Ebony, and we’re confident that, with time, Kristina will grow into a friendly, curious alpaca who enjoys hand-fed treats just like her older companions. Watching her gain confidence day by day is one of the most rewarding parts of our rescue journey.
Age: ~14 years
Sky is the gentle, watchful matriarch of our herd. A true rescue, she came to TNP from a difficult past and is still on her journey to learning trust. Naturally shy and cautious, Sky prefers to keep her distance from most people, but with patience and consistency, she is slowly beginning to understand that she is safe and cared for here.
While she has not yet accepted food from anyone but her caretakers, Dezerae and Jimmy, they continue to work with her every day to build confidence and trust. Despite her fears, Sky shines as a devoted mother—always putting her daughter Kristina first and ensuring she is fed, protected, and loved. Watching Sky’s quiet resilience and the bond she shares with Kristina is a powerful reminder of why rescue work matters.
Age: 8 years
Lulu is one of our most inspiring rescues. She came to TNP with several challenges—including a misaligned shoulder, a deformed foot, and an old jaw injury. While her appearance may reflect her past hardships, Lulu is now living her best life with regular veterinary care, a safe home, and a herd that accepts her just as she is.
Although she can be cautious around people, Lulu has made tremendous progress in learning to trust. When feeding her, please be patient—it takes her a little extra time to reach the fence. Because of her jaw injury, she scoops food rather than nibbling, so remember to keep your hand flat. Lulu may move more slowly, but she is not in pain as we manage her pain daily with medication, and every day she shows us just how strong and determined she is. With kindness and consistency, Lulu continues to blossom and reminds us all that healing is possible.

Orchid is our graceful llama who joined TNP after spending much of her life in Bend, where she was previously used for breeding. Now retired from that life, she enjoys the peace and care she receives at the rescue. Orchid has a unique skin condition that requires a little extra attention, but with the right care and love, she is thriving.
While she may appear shy at first, Orchid quickly warms up to kind faces and enjoys the company of people once she feels safe. Her calm nature and quiet strength make her a wonderful addition to our herd, and she’s a beautiful reminder that every animal deserves love and respect beyond the role they once served.
Age: Unknown
Shaggy is one of our newest herd members, arriving at TNP alongside his companion, Dr. J. While we don’t know much about his past, we are honored to give him a safe and loving home where he can simply be himself. Shaggy is still settling in, but with time, patience, and the support of his new herd, we look forward to seeing his personality shine as his fun personality is a perfect fit for us!
Age: Older Gentleman
Dr. J arrived at TNP with his friend Shaggy after their previous owner could no longer care for them. Though his exact age is unknown, Dr. J is an older alpaca and sometimes struggles to maintain his weight. With regular care, a healthy diet, and the watchful eye of our rescue team, he is receiving the support he needs to live comfortably. Despite his challenges, Dr. J carries himself with quiet dignity, and we are proud to give him a safe place to spend his golden years.
